last week I had a Jewish mother accuse a visibly Muslim family of being anti-semitic. Essentially the woman stated that the muslim family walked up to her and her daughter and wrote “no jews” on the lego wall that they were using. I instantly launched an investigation and-

in her own words the woman said “when they put that on the lego wall I told them that was a bad thing to say and they laughed in my face and left the library.”When I checked the security cameras to document this incident…the Muslim family did not go near this woman- They did not speak to her, they did not look at her. Additionally this woman did not use the lego wall in our library until AFTER the Muslim family had left for the day. It was a false accusation. I felt instantly sick to my stomach.

white people do not understand the consequences of falsely accusing people of color and reporting them. White womens tears are a danger, they were dangerous when Emmitt Till was lynched, they are dangerous now when accusations of antisemitism are flying. Had it been anyone else, and that Muslim family was still in the library, they would have been banned from the library, the police would have been called etc etc. I am glad I took the time to investigate our security tapes but I just do not understand how you can lie about-

something so serious like that. People are being shot, killed and hate crimed for supporting Palestine/ looking Arab/Muslim and you make up an entire FALSE hate crime about a muslim family who btw does not speak English!! How dare you. [source: @/ houduh on X. 12/18/23.]
